SOUTH SUDAN CONSUMER PRICE INDEX July 2024

This Release presents insights into the basic commodities market in the last 12 months in South Sudan’s major towns. That these results are based on the country’s three major towns, which largely benefit from imports, certainly makes them less representative of the overall picture of the commodity market’s performance. Therefore, caution is advised when making decisions based on such estimates.
On average South Sudan’s annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased during this period, decreasing from 1.6% in July 2023 up to 107.3% in July 2024. This increase is attributed to significant increases in the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages.
